Sign of the Times
The new dog handler vehicles are back from Premier Signs and what a great job both Chris and Andy have done from the design phase right the way through to completion. A big thanks from everyone at Blackstone. Yes, I'm probably slightly biased but I think the signage looks great and has made a huge difference from our previous signage and really catches the eye. I know the dog handlers are more than happy with the new vans and signage and the feedback from everyone else so far, both clients and colleagues, has been really positive. A big thanks to everyone involved.

New year, New Dog Handler Vehicles
What better way to start 2012 than by making some changes! After some serious thought it was decided to have a good hard look at our existing fleet of dog handlers vehicles, some starting to show signs of better days and make some much needed changes. So, it was decided to bring in some newer vehicles for now and try them out before committing to changing all the vans.
What seemed an easy decision on size, make, model etc. began and brought a lot of debate. After some early morning starts and long journeys around the country an additional three vehicles were purchased to start with, already fitted out with specialist cages, escape hatches air conditioning and that's just for the dogs! The vehicles are currently being sign written by Premier Signs of Basingstoke and everyone is looking forward to seeing the new vehicles and their new signage. Equally looking forward to hearing the feedback from our dog handlers over the coming months of how the new vans are performing.

Blackstone Security was delighted to have been able to help with her majesty the Queen's visit at Wellington College on 17/10/11 to give her support to the Round Square annual conference hosted at Wellington college.

HM the Queen was at the college to officially open the Round Square International conference where over one thousand staff and students attended during the week, which proved to be a great success by all who attended.

A New Member of a Different Kind
It was an early morning start and a long trip from Hampshire to Manchester to meet the latest new member to Blackstone Security. Danny, who only recently joined Blackstone, has proven himself very early and shown great potential and it was decided for his career to change and become a dog handler. Danny met the new member Kia, an all black German shepard who has a great working pedigree, with his dad competing at an international level. Both dog and handler chose each other straight away. I'm very pleased to say both Danny and Kia are advancing really well in their training and all at Blackstone wish them well in the future.

New Members Join the Blackstone Team
In the early part of September Blackstone was joined by two new members to the team. Both Justin and Danny have settled well into their new roles and both have been great representatives of Blackstone Security.
Justin, who has joined as a dog handler, brings with him a really great working dog and both have made a great impression to date. Danny who previously worked in security as a door supervisor started in a more front of house role interacting with the public as they first arrive at a very prestigious venue, which he has carried out very professionally and courteously.
The feedback from customers and fellow security officers has been more than positive and we wish them well in their future at Blackstone Security and thank them both for their dedication and hard work.

James Offord
It was a sad day at the end of August 2011, when James and his trusty sidekick Hooch decided to hang up their dog lead and leave Blackstone Security to make a change in their future career paths. All those who worked with them both will know what a big loss the pair leaving has been. James always carried out his duties professionally and courteously, being a real ambassador for Blackstone Security and was liked by all, both fellow work colleagues and clients. Hooch was also admired and known by all and I believe has settled well into his new life as a couch potato (only joking). We wish them both good luck in their newly chosen careers.
